While I do have respect for that much power and the guys who can handle it....I still think that top fuel drag is the most completely boring type of racing ever. A race lasts no more than 5 seconds, they don't even use real cars, and the engine literally destroys itself within 1320 feet. I guess I just don't get very excited by two awkward looking things go really fast for 5 seconds and then become immobile.

I'm sorry did I insult you in some way by not having the same opinion as you? Thanks for the cocky remark that doesn't contribute to the thread at all.

And no, I don't like hardcore porn.

8000 horsepower at 8200 rpm (almost as much as james's car)

The current Top Fuel dragster elapsed time record is 4.441 seconds for the quarter-mile ....

read this:

8O my fuel cutout is at 8200 rpm... but I don't have anywhere near 8000 horses. I'd have to rebuild my engine about 40 times everyday on the way to work. :D

no offense taken. and, you're welcome.

anyway, back to the topic:
for me, i still get my rushes from the unsystematic race throughout the streets at night. havent experienced rallying yet. if i did, i figured i'd wind up causing some considerable amount of damage to myself.

Initial is right... there are few recordable statisctics for a dragster because the level of power and performance is so high it simply isn't measurable. I've seen that list of facts before, and every time the horsepower and ET changes. The first time I saw it, it was 3.9 seconds, and 6500 HP. All I know is that a Top Fuel dragster is one of the most powerful V engines in the world, and that that ~4 seconds must feel like eternity when your strapped in the seat in front of that beast.

there not all the same

some are ford, dodge,chevy, chrystler...fish
All top fuel engines, just like all nascar engines, are the same, regardless of what company symbol is cast on them. Its part of the "equal playing field" crap that makes these types of racing so unbeliveably boring.

not all nascar engines are the same, my buddy works for edelbrock making manifolds, if all engines were the same, then why did toyota have to rework theirs to fit in the rules, if they were usung the same engine they wouldnt of had to.

he machines there manifolds and chevy has one dodge has another, their not all the smae, but some parts are the same.
