Whilst I understand and agree with you (the BP 1.8 is a rock solid engine!!!), There are no transmissions/ECU´s to be had from the escorts with said setup where I´m at currently (which would be Spokane WA), and the clutch is about to die on the 1.9 (which runs well, but is quite anemic at 84 horses), and since I have to pull the engine/trans combo to replace the clutch, why not just gut the thing and drop some more power underneath that hood.
I am trying to find out if the protoge` trans from the same era will drop into the Escort with mild to moderate work, but I´ve got no responses on that from the Engines forum. Maybe I just need to repost here, but that´s bad etiquette...
