DONT DO IT... the 93 GT motors have a high risk of explosion and causing serious injury or death when taken out at around 40K miles. It must be disposed of immediately by sending it to a place named potsdam, NY...

... you're going to need to buy so many other things to get it to work in your LX...

You gotta read the fine print in any deal.

and to stay on topic, like i said sittinlo, do what you want, but large rims are money pits... be warned. i work at a UPS drop off point, and tons 18"-22" cracked rims come through here EVERY day..

why do you think i should nt swap it into the LX? :?
the GT isn't capable for title ownership. some kids way back when jumped on the roof of the car, causing the roof to collapse or cave in or whatever. the guy who owned it was still making payments on it, but stopped making payments when insuance wouldn't cover the cost to fix it. and repo didn't take it away. so the only thing the guy can do is part it out. but, i talked it over with my friend's dad (who is doing the selling and [might be doing] the swap) said he'd do the engine swap for $700.
i am still looking for some more input. keep the comments running you guys!

Boone is in the NW corner of the state @ 3300ft in the Blue Ridge.. about 3.5 hours West of Raleigh (or 2 hours @ your pace) and about 15F cooler. :D A small city built around a state university called Appalachian State (the other ASU).

It's not that you shouldn't swap the motor into your LX, it's just that you'll need the drivetrain as well. Since you said it's only the motor, we're just letting you know that it's not enough to perform a swap.

You'll need mounts (maybe even the crossmember), tranny, axles, computer and wiring harness.

DeathSlinger00: the swap would be cool but you are going to need almost the entire engine bay of that donar car. You will need engine, tranny, half shafts, ecu not to mention a few other little items that add up in a hurry.

It sounds like a good deal to me.......see how much he wants for the whole car and get it too. You might be able to use it for donor parts like rims, turning signals/lenses, and seats just to name a few. But if your just going after the engine/tranny and your gonna have someone do the work, i say go for it.

well personally I would go for it since you eveidently have access to the donor car...however having said that...if you decide not to go for it...I would like to place my name in for the purchase of the engine tranny package...pm me if you decide to go that way instead of the swap...thanks

Mike
