if you literally scrolled down on the main page you would see a section called Engine Swaps.

There aren't a lot for you guys that I am aware of. You have the fastest non turboed escort ever built.

I would probably just leave it the original engine and just do stuff to it.

I doubt it. GT's are lighter than ZX2's. But I could be wrong though. Prove it.

im sorry yall i beg to differ ive got a 01 zx2 with the obx header, modified greddy exhaust from the accord 2.2, sr pcm,rs-1 in house intake, msd blaster dis coilpack, ford racing plug wires and pots mod in a kit box under the dash.... i still have the civics with b series engine hand me my ass so no i dont recommend modding the zetec ive found the 3rd gens true calling. since the svt contour is still such a hot comodity ive found the next best thing the mazda klze from the japan spec mx-6/ford laser this aluminum block and heads monster has 198bhp and revs smoothly to 7000 rpm about what you would get from a forced (ie super or turbocharged) zetec. but heres the kicker being the klze is all aluminum and the zetecs block is cast added weight is limited to within 150 lbs or so not that it matters much being that with a 200 hp zx2 everyones gonna want a ride anyway,. on top of that when starting with 200 hp forced induction could put you into supercar status real quick, ever bust a mustangs ass with an escort? he he

If you read down the listing the stock ZX2 can bust a Mustang GT with a professional driver behind the wheel of both cars. Why not use the newer ZX3 Mazda built four with 145 Hp and I forget what torque. In should be a shoe-in for a real motor head, and no six banger exhaust to announce your intention. The ultimate sleeper in box stock white. Just like your grandma's

The zetec can easily be built to 300HP with the right setup. That is my current goal.
I have a 98 zetec which will be treated with the following items
custom SS turbo manifold with external wastegate
    ported intake manifold
    65mm focus central
    T3/T4 turbo
    intercooler
    ported head with HiTorque cams
    Superchips tuning (or maybe Megasquirt)
    high flow fuel pump
and a few other misc items

Oh, and this is going into a 91 escort chassis

check out http://www.teamzx2.com for zetec info
