ok I just got my 98 LX about 3 months ago and I´ve noticed that when I step on the gas around 3000 or 4000 RPMs it hits a dead spot and then it will work fine infast it pulls harder after the dead spot. Also it idles rough regardless if i just start the car or if I´ve been driving all day. all replys are welcome.

cassic description of a bad Throttle Position Sensor, or a vacuum leak after the VAF/MAF but before the throttle body.

Look over your intake hose for cracks and such. Clean your throttlebody hardware. And shoot the TPS with a little compressed air.

Well I feel like one of the lucky ones then!
I have a 98 SE and it does not have that problem. I might be able to help though Cause when my car was new it did that. I took it to Ford and they fixed it(of course warrenty). Your best chance to fix it is to get it on the computer and make sure your all your readings are right. My car was reading the air temp wrong, causing the lull in mine.
