here's the quick and nasty...
91' mtx ecu, 91' mtx, 93' engine, EGR blockoff
my harness fried itself because a coolant sensor shorted and blah blah blah
i have the original harness from the 94 atx... can i swap em? will a 91 mtx ecu/motor work with a 94 atx harness?

how did that happen? Coolant sensor is very low voltage.....

I think you may have some bigger problems. But you never stated which car. the GT is no problem. as for the there should only be a few mods. The easiest way is to look at the schematics for each and see if they are the same.

You may have to be the one to write the 'how-to' on this one. I have never seen a unified wiring diagram for an Escort. The diagrams in the OEM manual are broken up in sections across many pages. Its not easy to follow a wire from place to place, or even to know which of the harnesses a wire is running in.
If I had to do what you are describing, I would figure on getting a copy of the Service Manual and the 'EVTM', (Electrical & Vacuum Troubleshooting Manual), for both the year of the car with the damaged harness, and for the year of the car from which you are getting the other harness.
The EVTM manual has about 300 pages; the Ford Service Manual is thicker even though its pages are thinner paper. I got my set on ebay for about $40.
