checking the headers, it went to 4 different departments, since the contact I had, does not work there so the server bounced it around internally until it landed in jamie's mailbox.

Not real, they did not use proper API buisness format when typing this up. Probably a scam or just somone looking to play pretend.

I cant say I ever met an auto salesperson who used proper business-customer relations either.
Or perhaps salesmen in the dealership are perceptive enough to KNOW that someone looking/acting like me would never be a sales prospect. ??

If you don't mind me asking, what was the original letter ? I'm sure there's some reason it wasn't posted to start with though.

The Escort as people actually like it can't come back. There are too many government safety requirements that would completely convolute the Escort's original design and purpose.

They gave us the Focus. That's as close as we can come.

I'm not sure who was advocating that it come back in it's original form. Obviously it would have to be updated to comply with modern regulations. But I agree, it's not at all a far cry from the Focus.

    Focus? Focu! ;)

I always figured the Focus to be the successor to the Escort. Doesn't mean I'd buy one though.

Question: If I Google "2017 Ford Escort" I get pics. Does that mean they are only making it overseas, or just not in it's original form? Maybe I misread but I thought this was about the Ford Escort being cancelled.

They are exporting them to the EU from china coming towards the end of this year, still nothing insight for the USDM market. some how their best selling car was the USDM escort and they have just went "fuck it" and decided that some how this great little name is put to pasture.

Model lines, particularly as they get old, tend to get bad reputations; even though they can (but not always) improve remarkably from one generation to the next. I'd be interested in having Ford change the name from one revision to the next... like the Escort 1st Gen would have a different name from the 2nd Gen... and 3rd Gen.

    lol dchawk 81!

93scortluv- their loss. Having run a GM distribution center, I'll never touch a GM product. (Arrogant SOB'S!!!). I had always hoped that Ford was better in that respect. I think they are, but this may not be the best decision. (I never worked with Ford, only GM and Chrysler, Chrysler was MUCH better to deal with)

I don't agree with renaming though. You lose brand recognition ™ ®

The letter didn't end with "and the horse you rode in on" did it?:)

Why is my signature not showing up on every page?
