Hey all you honda haters out there... i´ve got a story for you.......
in high school i got my drivers license and needed a car.. i was pissed off to no extreme when my father announced that he had purchased an 89 escort pony for $800 with 113,000 miles on it.. the car was "perfect" ´cept for the miles. He had purchased it from a man that had just remodeled the whole car.. paint, engine, clutch.. etc., and was going to give it to his daughter... oh well.. anyway´s i was "PISSED" cuz my mother had owned a white 93 escort pony.. and therefore the car had sort of a "grocery-go-getter" appeal to me.. i had the car for about 7 months and sold it, to look for a honda civic hatchback.. well.. i found one.. i bought a civic hatchback for $1,200. it had 90,000 miles on it... lets just say that i now refer to honda´s to be "boxes with gears"... the thing SUCKED.. of course it was fully standard, but still.. here are a few of the problems that i encountered... poor acceleration, rust, rust, rust, the outside would dent at the touch.. literally.. , no room for a decent system.., and the thing hated to go above 55mph.. well.. to make everyone Ever so happy.. i totalled the honda within´ two months of owning it.. i have learned my lesson and went out to buy the object of my effection, the car that makes me realize why you guys love escorts so much.. a 91 EscortGT! it has 140,000 miles on it, but is still goin´ strong... about every week you can see me kicking peoples butts on a certain highway in ohio at 2am doing excess of 120mph.. i havent gotten ticketed for that yet .. *knocks on wood* ^_^,
i am currently in the process of doing the "poor-man´s" modifications.. all external and internal for now.. not much under the hood (at least until i can get a better knowledge of that area)... i could use any advise anyone can give me.. preferably the "less expensive" modifactions, until i get cash.. -_-, you can see my car at >>>KaYL´s 91 EGT<<<... i am hoping to get ahold of a escort cosworth type wing, and an evo 3 front bumper.. << if anyone can tell me where to find these i would be VERY happy.!... i also want to add a catback exhaust, and a new clutch.. but i want to do them myself, and therefore must learn..
