Old FEOA timer back to ask about 3rd gens. Bought a 2000 se auto cheap for winter beater. I suspect PO reversed polarity on a jump start of dead battery. Any info on the compatible ECUs for that car would be greatly appreciated. I'm having car towed to get numbers off it tomorrow; but was hoping to pre-narrow my search. eBay ones are for zetec or don't specify; not sure if either ECU will run other engine or if trans parameters are stored in same unit. Any good info is appreciated. Thanks!!!!

Use www.car-part.com to find matching ECU's ("Computer Box Engine") for your car in your area.

The 2000 se (not ZX2) has only 2 computers to choose from: AT, (ID YS4F-12A650-TB) and MT, (ID YS4F-12A650-UB). There are a couple of dozen for the ZX2 and they're not compatible. The 2000 Focus uses the same part number. I don't know if they're compatible or if the programming is slightly different.
