I noticed something. There are a whole bunch of ads for this supposed chip that we all know is just a resister. The person selling them goes by the name of mods_innovations seems like everyone noticed that it is nothing but a resistor. I just wish there was some way to educate the people that purchase one of these and realize they got ripped off. oh well there are always gonna be people who want to take advantage of those who don't know.

Some people just don't have the "spider sense" that goes off like a battleship's deck gun when outrageously ficticious claims are made.. whether it be a carpet cleaning solution that can remove anything yet leave the carpet unhurt.. a car wax that can deflect highpowered laserbeams yet let light shine through.. an oil treatment that lets you drive around without oil.. a machine that processes nuclear waste into pure water.. an 'under the counter 'pill that will enlarge your penis.. a cologne that will make women fawn all over you.. a free anything..

well, technically... the definition of being ripped off is "being forced to pay/trade for an object/service above its appraised value"

Unless, they forcefully bought it due to inflation, its not being ripped off. Now, it makes them stupid, but not ripped off. If they want it, they could always buy a potentiomter for like a buck...

what is wrong and immorral and illegal is this....Unless that "20hp mod" is patented or patent pending, then they are required to specify what the contents of the circuit or mod are. They are not required to give quantities or manufacturers names, but they are required to tell what the concept its and what makes it work. The only problem is, its one of those laws un mandated because there are so many w/ little value that it is not bothered with.

Not to say a class action lawsuit wouldn't work. Selling $.05 resistors to people at $5 a pop and not telling them what it is... might not hold up in court.. who knows.

In any case, I wouldn't spend $.05 on ebay for something that wasn't described well.

Well to people who know it seems to good to be true but to mr."street racer" fresh out of the theater after watching 2f2f and got beat on the way home while attempting to race this would be the greatest thing in the world to them

Just my dollar minus 98 cents :)

If people got the money to spend on it, why not? I got screwed off Ebay before. stupid headlights were tinted blue and advertised as HID simulated bright white & built with German-engineering. That's 15 dollars i want back, but it's no big deal. I can use them if I build a show car.

I'm sure it'll give these "tuners" a whopping 1.04 hp to which they'll go "damn I can feel the extra surge of power now" meanwhile they'll pull up to some guy in a 280 ci Mustang, race and proceed to get a good look at those sexy vertical taillamps.

Wouldn't this mod be good for a cooling effect? tricking the ECU to thinking the air is colder than it is would make it introduce more fuel right? extra unburned fuel tends to cool the engine in itself. So I dunno. it'll give you bad gas mileage plus barely any extra hp. good deal.
