Not anything Ford related....but DAYUUUUUUUUUUM DO I WANT IT....BAD... 8)

The day I went shopping for a new car and ended up with the Spec V and then the Civic 13 days later... I was REALLY looking for the little brother to one of these cars....

Can anyone say Integra Type R? Only 300 USDM ITRs were shipped into the states. 8O I keep seeing this black one in front of Best Buy here in town. :notworthy:

Specs: 1.8L B18c5 DOHC VTEC, 195 hp 130 ft lbs torque... Naturally aspirated!!!

Full racing suspension, close ratio 5 speed manual (that would bolt to my B16a2) 8O

5 lug 16" 7 spoke dark tinted rims. :notworthy:

The little brother to this car is the Acura Integra GSR, 1.8L B18c1, DOHC VTEC with 170 hp, 130 ft lbs torque...I dunno if I can contain myself if I ever found one for sale...I might just trade in the Si for it. :D

Actually there were about 5000 produced from 97-98 and 2000-2001. '97 had the least production, around 750, and it was between 1100-1600 (or so) per year all other years. I see them all the time around here, a lot of yellow ones specifically since they are easy to notice.

Ah. Yes you're right. now that I've done some research...

I was thinking about 2000 Cobra Rs 300 produced, 240 sold to public, 13 wrecked...

anyway,

There is no good answer to how many USDM Integra Type-R's there might be. Honda has issued very little information about this and the info we do have seems to be incorrect or lacking supplementary information. We can all speculate as to the numbers for each year. We will round up and give you a best guess at the maximum number of each year there is likely to be.

1997 - 750
1998 - 1100
2000 - 1600
2001 - 1600

These numbers are based on badge numbers viewed by us here. If you have a badge number on a United States Type-R that exceeds these numbers please email us so we can modify our numbers.

The Integra got a face lift in 1998 which included the Type-R. The front and rear bumpers were the most noticeable changes. Championship White was the only colors available for the 1997 and 1998 model years.

In 2000 the color scheme changed and the Type-R was no longer available in the United States in Championship White. The colors now offered were Phoenix Yellow and Flamenco Black Pearl. The only change to the interior was some faux carbon fiber inserts in the center console and air vents.

In 2001 the car still was offered in Yellow and Black but the black paint offered became Nighthawk Black.

My neighbour to the east of me just bought a Pearl White '98 Integra Type R, then my neighbour to the west bought a '99 Civic hatchback, of cource it is lowered and has a coffee can exhaust and a large wing on the back of the roof above the hatch.

In other words I am surrounded by "H-Cars". This is why I have accelerated my plans for the Turbo on my EGT... :)

over rated! that is a direct quote from a couple guys i know that have owned or driven them. and seeing the numbers i understand why. 195/130 teh trq is way to low for the hp it just has nice high rpm's adn lacks teh needed low end.

uh...ok so there is no low end, it's a Honda.... Go figure.

Thats why they come with a close ratio 5 speed, to keep the revs up...

Overrated huh? these things will literally spank your GT my friend, and yes I know you run mid 15s. Hell my Si runs mid 15s.

I skunked a Civic SI in my 1996 EGT. Pretty easy kill too.

195 HP and you brag that the Integra will beat an Escort. Big deal. Will it eat a Mustang? Doubtfull.

Sorry tom, but remember way back when ford made the mistake of four banger stangs...ummm exactly. And belive me that Integra will keep up with if not beat a mustang in prime circumstances. And i think if you keep the integra tasteful, they are sweet cars. but once you add a big kit with the wing, its oficially CRAP...imo at least. But lets not go to that.

what year Si, 91-93? Si's can be easy kills if the guy doesnt know how to drive his b16. :p

Don't get offensive man, I'm not here to argue about the damn car. The ITR is a street legal race car, it'll waste a lot more than you think. It runs low 15s, high 14s stock. Throw in some money for I/H/E and more aggressive N/A cams, maybe a port and polish job on the head/intake, and it will hold its own against a Mustang GT. It'll already waste any Mustang V6 with ease.

If you dont like Hondas thats fine, this is an Acura. and for a while now it's been a car that I've wanted and probably will never get the chance to own.

Err, I don't really have any other input on this than when you said

Acura is Honda with a different label, it's like Ford and Mercury. Just making sure you knew that since it didn't sound like you were makin the correlation. Cheers.

Yeah well the mustang v6 I cant beat them. Even with little mods it will do at the most 15.9. Hey james did you know here in canada the civic si has 127 hp and 114 lb torque. Your car here would be a civic SIR and they sell for 30 000$... That is way to overpriced if you ask me but they are good relialble cars.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know, because when I saw you had a civic si with 160 hp stock I was asking myself questions. You should try getting a SIR badge...

a "stock" SI is not a 14 second car. one or two may be like my car is a mid 15 car. but i know of a couple guys with them and they see high 15's at best. one guy told me he was running 13's in his SI at the track oneday and he had no helmet! when i watche dhim run he was passing at a 14.8-15.2 rate. he had the basic mods.

Yes I know. Acura is Honda's luxury division. But...no US Domestic Market Acura cars correspond to any cars in Honda's line up. It's a completely different division here. in JDM land, the Honda Integra is the same thing as a USDM RSX-S. :D

Canada gets screwed alot. USDM B16a2s come with 160 hp. Trust me.

You don't? ok. Proof: http://www.hondaswap.com/reference/index.php?mode=engine&id=15 :D :D

I never said an Si was a 14 second car. I said an ITR is a low 15, high 14 second car. ITR = Integra Type R

If those guys with the stock Sis see high 15s at best then they=suck. Most people that know how to feather the B16 tranny can get 15.3-15.5 on a crappy day.

My plans are full catback exhaust, skunk2 stage 1 cams & a cold air intake. I should be able to dip into low low 15s if my Tranny doesnt blow up :D

Agreed

Yeah those type r's are sweet. The only problem was that they were never offered with a sunroof. A friend of mine has a gsr that he has had for probably eight years. He's got the money to buy whatever he wants, but chooses to keep it cuz he " still love's it". I've driven a gsr before and they are cool cars. I am still sad that honda chose to axe the prelude.........may it rest in peace. I would have bought one instead of my eclipse if they still made them.

Actually it was the 2000 body style. Before Honda went with that stupid looking SI. I was suprised how easy of a kill it was. I skunked a Focus the other night. Talk about a lame car. I am embaressed to say I beat a Focus.
