94 Escort Wagon, 150K miles.. Daily Driver/Grocery Getter..

Drivers side headlamp ON-- But dim.. The headlamp itself is cloudy, but no worse than the passenger side.. Parked 4 foot away from the garage door-- you can't SEE it's on from the drivers seat, as the light of the passenger side overwhelms it..

Anyone know where the headlight ground wires attach?? Most cars ground these separately, and this can happen when the ground fails..

I just don't feel like playing "Hide 'n go seekie" for the ground wire, if someone already knows.. Might as well clean both of them, while the dremmel tool is out, so BOTH sides would be appreciated..

swap the bulbs from side to side before you go any further. the bulb might just be going out.

...I guess I forgot to mention getting a new bulb, initially THINKING it wasn't on at all..

was the connector melted at all? they like to do that


if it is a little bit or is corroded in the connector from excess heat that could be your problem

Nope.. End connector is okay.... Again, pretty sure it's a ground failure..

there should be a ground on each side, just look for it. i think on the drivers side, it's kinda below the headlight, on a bumper support maybe. on the passenger side i think its on the inner fender in front of the motor mount. this is just off the top of my head but it should get you close.
