Try taking out fuses, one has to be hooked up to the Beep Beep Beep, I think it sound more like ding ding ding, but that me, Duct tape doesn´t last that long, It pisses me off when I am working on my car and listening to the tunes.

I am sure you prolly could remove the fuse, but the only prob there is will it affect anything else in the car...I am sure if you really wanted to,you could hunt down that Beeper, and snip a wire here and there and be done with it fer good

do you have the key in the ignition when this happens? if not your ignition switch is on the way out. Go buy one at autozone for $15 and spend 30 minutes replacing it.

You want the plastic electrical switch not the lock and tumbler.

this applies to 91-96 escorts. anything else and it may not be the same price etc.

oh and if you do have the key in the ignition thenn..... TAKE IT OUT *L*

You probably already know but you can find all the infos ( or almost) you need to tear down your entire car and it´s electronics by buying the HAYNES repair manual....for less than 20 $...and they have made some on many other models too....i bought one on the V8 engine powered pick-ups....ILL swap one of those beast in a later model of a Chevy Chevette ahahah I hope the frame will take the extra weight ! ahah

The beaver got it right. I take out the door button for temporary rlief when I need the key in when workin on the car. Elektronik dude, for your problem , if the light doesn´t come on then I would first check the button to see that rust hasn´t insulated the connection.

Haynes Suck!!!! Get a Chilton, or BEST case get a factory shop manual, and an EVTM for your car from Ebay. In my car I unplugged a connector that was in the steering column that went to the key switch. That did the trick. and best of all it still dings if I leave my lights on.

haha me and my friends did a backyard wrestling tape last year, I taped it all so you won´t see me, except my middle finger.... :-] but the tape has my car in the background with the door open beeping all through it. I kinda got a shot of it in the tape for a second though. back when the rust wasn´t everywhere. :-Y We had to use my car for the entrance songs because we forgot a boombox. lol so I know how annoying that beeping is. ;-)

If you could find the right song with a beat to match the BPM of the door chime you could incorperate the chime into the song, and it wouldn´t be as annoying.

90% of the tape is without any entrance songs, so for the most part my car is just sittin there beeping with nothing to drown it out :-( Oh well, it was a funny tape and you hardly realize it after a while.
