Either I am loosing it or has the door locks on a 99 escort zx2 have one go down further then the other. The driver side lock goes flush with the surface when locked-> ----, the passenger sticks up a half inch or so when locked also -> __[]__. Let me know if i am just spacing out, I tend to notice things like that and then contradict myself to the point i dont know which is right.
I know on my 2000 SE (sedan) the back locks stick up about a half inch when locked while the fronts sit flush. The reason is that with the door locked, if you pull the handle on the front door, it will unlock it and open the door. The same is not true for the back.
If it bothers you, that part that sticks up is just a small plastic piece that screws onto a threaded metal rod. You can get different ones from a junkyard sedan (backs if you like it sticking up, or fronts if you like it flush). You can also find places online that sell anodized metal ones.
Alright, I thought that wasnt how it normally is. I looked at it again and it felt a little loose but i didnt have time to do anything to it. I will have to try screwing it on or something to fix it. Thanks
