I was looking at the engine bay and on the dtivers side I see a hard pipe with a hose clamp on the pipe and then a loose rubber hose that seemingly goes onto the pipe. However the clamp looks far too small to fit on the rubber pipe.

Anyone knows what it is?

Assuming thats a 2nd gen LX escort, that is the outlet from the trans to the trans oil cooler in the radiator side tank. They slide a larger rubber tube over it to stop chafing as the engine rocks for-and-aft on acceleration.
Below it and to the right of it (as shown in the photo) is the return rubber hose from the oil cooler, going back into the transmission to the trans oil pump housing.
trans cooler line, with an insulating sleeve over it.
Thx guys.

Does that mean I may have to fill up trans fluid?
