I have a 1997 escort that I race on an paved track. It is an automatic, I was told there may be a way to make it so the car can not shift into third gear while driving it in drive. Is this true or am I being lead on a wild goose chase. Thanks for your help

putting it in L will keep it in first and second

there is a cable messed up when in low only it run at about 7 grand like its stuck in first gear. After the first week out we had to rebuild the tranny as we had no reverse and very little low.
