I would like to get a zx2 at some point maybe if I cant find a 93 egt that I would deem good enought for me to aquire.

So iam looking at some superchargers for civics for a friend and I notice that Jackson racing made a charger kit for the 2L ztec motor. Now to my knolage the motors in the zx2 and focus are the same 2L zetec.

Ive been in and out of SC over turbo discussions left and right and I dont want to get into it here. Iam sold on tight corner road racing that superchargers are better.

Now to the meat of the topic.

Would using a JR supercharger for a focus ztec 2L work for a zx2 2l ztec?

no, and on top of that the JR kit is only good for 210whp tops.
Turbo will own road racing over supercharger also.
The power curve is not there on superchargers, plus they get robbed on tq.

    no what?

I know the jr kit os good for 210hp. but theres still more that can be done after that.

Lik eI said ive been thru the discussions of turbos and superchargers and I have been sold on superchargers are better for road courses and tight turn tracks, Power is linier I dont have to wait for it.

yeah a turbo setup can be tuned for no lag but I dont really care for turbos anymore.

So will the headunit work on the zx2 motor?

Not sure about if it will work our not, If you honestly doing road course racing you would know that your going to trying to race in your power curve all the time. Being there a turbo would be more beneficial. Cause it gives you more higher end power.

And if I drop out of the power band the SC will get me back up.

no more discussion of S?C over turbo vice versa.

Just answere the question please, will the focus zetec suprcharger work on the zx2 zetec?

The VCT on the ZX2 is on the intake cam while the Focus it is on the exhaust cam. A Focus head can be made to work on a ZX2 with some modding. I have heard the same thing on clearance issues with the SC going into the ZX2.

Isn't that backwards? Isn't the VCT on a zx2 exhaust side? Not sure but i think it is.

The Focus doesn't have VCT at all. Just the ZX2 and Contour/Mystique. To answer your question finally Sidney is no the JR S/C will not work. It bolts up fine to either zetec motor but the firewall is in the way on the zx2 chassis. Since the JR S/C was designed for the focus platform it won't work on the zx2 one. Sorry bro.

nope it won't work .. and the ZX2 has VCT on the exhaust , not intake. It's emission related since the ZX2 does not have an EGR.

Correct. VCT replaces the traditional EGR valve.
