So I got a 1999 ford escort with 26,540 miles for $1950. Owned by an old lady that recently died.

It has the following features:
Auto tranny (ew i wish it was manual)
auto doors and locks
ABS
Cruise control on steering wheel
Alarm
Tilt wheel
Remote access
Sport edition
Spoiler


Runs like new just a loud engine....which i'm not used to.

So, did I get a steal? Or did I get stuffed?

very good, as you said, manual tranny it´s better but with that mileage the car still new

Sounds like you got an excellent deal, as always have it checked out or check it over yourself. Personal experience is if your not good with cars money is well spent on a friend or a good shop to give everything a once over.

I thought I got a good deal with my Tracer in 2007, I paid around $2,300 for it (from a dealer) and it had 75k on the clock but did turn up a few issues along the way. Still I think you got a great deal that thing is like new!

Killer deal!! With a deal like that you could afford to put a little more in it and do a manual tranny swap. The old lady may come back and haunt you for buying her car so cheap. I've got a '97 wagon with about 26K miles on it and there's no way I'd take $1950. for it.

Okay good I'm glad I got a good deal!! I'm 17 so my insurance is very expensive so I can't do many mods until I get a job...and with this economy it's really hard.

don´t worry, escort it´s very a cheap car and very reliable.

just put atention on any new noise and keep the engine oil clean and fluid at good levels.
