Well I went over to Brians to take a few more pics of the turbo I just got, and afterwards I was like damn I want a digi camera so I ran back home with brian picked up my newly cashed paycheck and jumped on the highway. He brought his camera with him and I decided to make a run for top speed after my gauges were installed. Keep in mind I had 150 xtra pounds in my car and my gauges are still slightly off from being accurate. I would estimate I'm actually pulling 110 mph @ 6800 rpm from runs I've made before I messed with my gauges...well here's the picture...

(it shows 112 @ 6900 or so the tach got cut off)

What's that? I'm an idiot? Yeah I know.

If you can get them calibrated cheaply, then Yes I do. otherwise it's a guessing game on where the needles are actually at.

Here's a pic of me doing what Brian calls a "JDM pose" with my newly arrived turbocharger. 8O

Yes, yes.. gauges looking good.. *is getting ideas*

Is that brushed aluminum panel difficult to install? Double-sided tape? Have you noticed any glare from it?

Thanks, James.. for the ideas..
It's not that hard to install actually. It comes with double sided tape and it will stick right to that grey piece that is there now (you need to keep that grey piece so you have to anyway.)

:banghead: I forgot about the double sided tape until you just mentioned it... I superglued it to my grey bezel piece...oh well... :D

My only complaint with it is that it sorta covers up some of the gauges (I can't see all of "Normal" on my temp gauge, and some of the lines after redline are cut off in my tach...other than that it's pretty cool.

The reason why I say THAT is because my windows are tinted and I normally drive INTO the sun at any given time during the day. If you drive away from the sun, then you'll get glare & a bright shine. 8O

Yeah the way I took the needles off was I took a kitchen utensil known as a fork and stick it behind the center of the needle and pulled. the first time takes some effort and 3 of the 4 flew at my eye. 8O

Before you mess with them though it's always a good idea to mark where they were on the old gauges, and then after you install the new gauges over the old gauges make sure you can see the mark. I didn't do that. :x

How much do you think a regular auto shop would charge to do it complete thing including taking apart the whole dash and whatever else is needed?.......Yea I just noticed your sig lookin good. 8O
All you need is a 7 mm socket w/ wratchet, a phillips screw driver and lots of patience.

You don't NEED to take apart the whole dash. I just took out the blue bezel piece I painted. There's six 7 mm screws (you can use a star key too if you have one) and then you have to take the plastic piece that covers your gauges off which I think is 4 or 5 screws.

Note: I left that clear plastic piece OFF so I can adjust my needles at any given time. :D

so even a retard like me could prolly do it?
Yes. LOL :D

When you're taking that bezel out you'll have to force it, but BE CAREFUL...the three screws on the bottom of the bezel have little plastic and metal clips on them, so the harder you force them the more chance you have of breaking them.

It'll take some patience and some clear, un-pissed off thinking to get it off in one piece.
