was gonna use the sony package i got but put that in wifes exploder. i just wanna replace the speakers i got to go with the factory h/u. what kinda wattage should i look at to go with stock setup? i was thinking bout switching to 6 1/2 all the way around. heard the round speakers do better fo bass then the oval 5by7's i got in there. what would yall reccomend? dont care on brand & i would like to keep it cheap...

I'd go with a set of 5 1/2 pioneer coaxials that will keep it cheap and get rid of the stockers, sound alot better, as for the rears do the same thing if you can find a set of 5x7s if not you could custom fit some 6 1/2s in there probably

6.5's fit very easily in the rear and no custom fab needed. just mount them up.

bingo! the spacings are dam near the same for both the 5x7 and 6.5's. so there is no modification needed.

no you remove teh stock bottom mounted 5x7 and replace it with the new 6.5. worst case you have ot get longer screws if teh new speaker has a tall mounted tweeter.

they will squeeze from what i have heard. but i ditch oval speakers whenever possible. there is also a reason i am not a square sub fan. if its not broken don't fix/change it.
