woowoo, I dont know who you bribed bro, but your engine bay is the dirtiest thing Ive seen in a long time. Hands down, Pierce should have won this one on sheer class alone! That is one clean rally car!

I can see why people dont visit COTM anymore, due to things like this.

From what I saw, 3 cars in the same class, and 1 in a class well above the other 3.

14k members and something like 25 votes last month... my opinion, COTM is dead.

i didnt bribe anyone? i work with what i have. i know the engine bay is dirty but i wasnt too concerned about looks. that picture was taked the day the turbo was making boost. and to be honest i just wanted to DRIVE my car rather than cleen my engine bay before i got to test it. As of then i have actually cleened it. it may not be fun to look at but its a turbo car and its fun to drive. personally i think pierce should have won. maybe its because he is barely active on FEOA just like 90 percent of the 14k registered users.

I was just pointing out the fact it was dirty and won in a competition based on clean, style, and performance. Wasnt bashing your car by any means. And was useing quite a bit of sarcasm in my previous post. Plus, how is it a fair competition to post 2 mostly stock, 1 turbo, and a nicely done Ralley car in the same category. If we based COTM on activety, we'd see the same 25 cars on a monthly basis. COTM is basically dead - I applaud Yoda for trying to revive it, but from what I see, its just not what it used to be. Could change it to an ERDT format and everyone posts the pics, but Yoda alone pics the featured COTM. I dont know, just throwing some suggestions out. I barely visit the section because it usually is the same old.

It is a great idea , just a little backwards IMO
I like the ERDT format but I think it should be broken down into a few categories

Something like this
Nominations open to whomever including the owner/builder
If someone puts a lot of work in a car ,they should be able to blow they're own horn a little. It's up to the votes, in the end anyway.

Selecting 2 cars for each of 3 classes

Race : Restoration : Show

3 winners per month , then have a vote off in December for the annual feature cars.
I'm sure Slapyo could find spot for a 100X100 thumbnail link to a "Featured Car Page" to be displayed on the FEOA home page (like nopistons.com)

The way I see it, there is about 150 regular members to this site , the rest come and go. It really is up to YOU to get more people in here.

I made some business size cards, that I stick under windshield wipers of any Escort/Tracer I see.
It simply says "Do you want to know your car ? Visit http://www.feoa.net ( Ford Escort Owners Association )"

I like the idea of being able to nominate yourself the best.
How about putting the contents of the user info or menu box at the top ofthe page with the FAQ, SEARCH, etc. buttons. Then put some pics of the cars being voted for in the empty box.
Just a thought...

If somebody else wants to take over COTM, feel free.

I've put enough effort in to it over the last 8 months or so and interest never picked up.

Quite honestly, I don't think we have enough quality cars on this site anymore to have good competition each month. Definitely not enough to have 3 cars per month.

I don't think you should be able to outright nominate yourself. You should be able to post a few pics and specs of your car but another member has to nominate you into the running. I don't even know what half of the members cars look like or their current condition so nominating somebody involves research. Or maybe I know who I want to nominate but the links to the pictures went bad. I didn't even know piercemotorsports had a car that awesome, he should have won.

Yoda, I think you are doing a damn fine job with what you are given to work with. My suggestions were just that, nothing more.
I visit this section a lot to come up with ideas that I can use on my GT. Plus, I am one of the few that votes each month.
