I was recently made aware of This discussion where a SVT tech brags about thrashing this customers car. Well she found out about it! check out this thread that shows action be taken etc. I will be writting up a letter and sending it to the dealership on behalf of all of us here at FEOA. If you send one to them make sure is mature and to the point. This is disgusting!

Here is the E-mail I will be sending in behalf of FEOA.net.

To whom it may concern,

I was recently made aware of a customer of Northside Ford. The customer allegedly had her car trashed by a SVT tech while it was in for service. I am a webmaster for the Ford Escort Owners Association. While we do not exactly represent the largest part of the car market we are car enthusiasts and would all love to have an '03 cobra in our driveway. I wish to express our outrage that this was allowed to happen. We hope Northside Ford decides to change their position and properly compensate the customer for the wrong of their employee.
Properly compensating the customer will give the dealership an opportunity to prove to the car enthusiasts around the world that they have world class customer service. They will further be able to show that the actions of two techs do NOT reflect on the rest of the "Northside Ford Team". I look forward to seeing how this matter is resolved and seeing Northside Ford's reputation upheld and expanded.

Sincerely,

Matt

Damn dude, I tried to post a reply there, but I think it is locked down now. That has to be one of the worst/funniest things I´ve ever seen. Worst because, well DUH. if anyone did that with My Stang, or my Scort for that matter I´d be pissed. There is no diff between a $35k 03 Cobra and a Beat ass Scort I bought for $400 when it comes to respect from a tech. The funniest thing was the fact that reps from Honda, BMW, Acura, Chevy, and even Yamaha have posted replies. I tried to represent the Scorts, but like I said I was denied. I don´t know where this Tech got his training from, but I graduated from UTI, and I took their Ford FACT program while I was there, and I don´t remember there being a class in their curiculum about Beating the hell out of a car. Even when I was in Hot Rod U and we dynoed the cars, we were taught to repect them, and to be very carful at all times, anyone even reving a car before a dyno pull got docked points from their grade at the least. People even got suspende or expelled from the school if they were caught F*ing around even if it was their own car they were putting on the dyno. I truly think mechanics need more regulations. I also think they need more pay, and more recognition for the awsome work that most of them do, but it is people like this guy who gives mechanics bad reps. I know If I were that guys supervisor, or even a co-worker with that guy, I would be very dissapointed in him. I might even go as far as finding a new dealership to work at because I wouldn´t want to work at a place with a bad reputation. Who in their right mind is going to get their SVT serviced there. If I lived in San Antonio and that was the only SVT dealership, I´d be renting a uhaul and towing my car to Austin, or Houston, or even Dallas or El Paso If I had to to find someone who would treat my car right. Hell I´d trailer the damn thing back to Detroit if I had too. One person went as far as saying the guy had no respect for the hand built engine. When it comes to my Mustang there is no fooling around with it because I built the engine with My OWN hands. Let me hear about a mechanic or a parking attendant so much as getting my car over 5 mph without me being in the car. Then let me get ahold of his car, or his neck. I hope it is true that that guy got fired, I wish there was an Americas Most (un)Wanted list for mechanics. He would be Public Enemy #1.
With all the training I´ve had and all the jobs I was denied because of a not so clean driving record, than to read that guys like this get positions as SVT techs, just makes me so upset.

I had my Mystique serviced by local Ford dealer for 3 days. When I got it back found a Daryll´s Tavern bar coaster on the back floorboard and half the carpet ripped out of the trunk. Took some pictures and went back in and inquired exactly what the hell they did to my car. Shame when you can´t trust your dealer. They´ll bend over backwards to sell you a car, but if you need it serviced, they´ll bend YOU over the hood of their car and give it to you the wrong way...

Ive been a mechanic for the last 30 years. As long as he brought the car back without a scratch and without a driving violation the only thing he´s guilty of is shooting off his mouth. In the 70´s working at the local Porsche-Audi dealer my service manager handed me a work ticket and it said "steering wheel shakes at 125 mph". After I balanced all four tires the customer came out to me personally and asked me to road test it and take my hands off the steering wheel at 120 mph. How can anyone verify the performance of a 911e or a late model Cobra without giving it to a 19 or 20 year old kid?

its not just dealers, local mechanics screw you over too. about a year ago i went to get the gas smell in my car taken care of, thinking there was a leak in a line or in the tank somewhere. they charged me $130 and it still smelled like gas, and they said they couldnt find a leak but they changed all the lines. well i pulled up my backseat yesterday and there was a puddle of gas under the left side, soaking through that plastic barrier right into the damn seat. if anyone had lit a match in that seat, my car would have exploded. and if the mechanic had lifted up the seat, they would have realized the obvious. now i have to find the leak...i think its right out the top by the fuel pump, and my fuel gauge doesnt work either so maybe theyre related problems.

well then again i took it to the same place and said i didnt want to spend that much (less than $200) to get the crankshaft fixed, well $700 later and the car was running, not to mention they charged me $100 for a new timing belt when i had just gotten it changed a week before and TOLD THEM NOT TO CHANGE IT.

oh and guess what, the car ran for 2 months and now has been broken down in my driveway for the past month.

you know what would be nice, to get a nice new car.. i dunno, say like a ´03 Ferrari (i dunno) and put a bunch of camera´s in it, say in the front grill, one in the dash lookin at speedo, and one at driver (all hidden btw) and take it to a dealer and ssee what happens... just a thought, sure wouldnt want anyone doing that to my car, then again, its a 95 EGT
i´d shoot the guy if he did tho
