Kevin is not the sharpest tool in the shed, apparently. Within the first three weeks of ownership, Kevin took the car to Las Vegas (a long, long way from Louisiana) and used the 1200 miles, or so, for the break-in period. As soon as he got back, he was racing it. I am not sure when he first took it to the strip, but it didn´t take long. He indicated, last night, that the dealership knew he had been to the strip. Whether he told them, or they found out via the grapevine, I do not know, but that would certainly constitute a warranty violation, if they wanted to be prickish about it.
This is not the first "episode" Kevin has had, actually. It seems that about two weeks ago, Kevin was washing his car. When he was done, he decided to take the car for a spin to air dry it. (To hear Kevin tell it is a hoot, by the way.) As he is driving along, he notices in the rear view mirror that the water bubbles are cruising along the rear wing (or "fin," as he calls it). So completely entertained by the bubbles is Kevin, that the car eases left into the rather daunting curb on the left side of the street. Needless to say, the Enkei´s on the left side of the car are pretty thrashed, as is the corner of the spoiler. The curb even sheared off the wheel weights. Some people just don´t deserve good shit, do they?
The funny part is that he was going in for his first oil change today, anyway. I can just here it now, "Hey, boys, I´m here for my oil change. Throw in some o´ that good ol´ Mobil 1, and, oh, yeah, how ´bout a new clutch, while you´re at it?" This is gonna be good.
