Must be in Australia? (upside down)

What the heck happened to my air bag man?

Twins? Hey that one has some tight leather on her!

Oh wait a minute I just got my new leather cruise steering wheel installed.

Well I had a little mishap in the process when removing the old one. Where the steering wheel puller threads in to the old wheel the upper hole had the side crack and allowed the bolt to pop out. I had to use a 2 ton 2 jaw puller to get it out. Not a problem with the new tool, but having to run out and get it was a pain. Now I just have wait for a box from Florida to arrive with the rest of the cruise parts. :D

What are you doing with the one that's got the CC delete?

I was thinking about selling it since I have no use for it now.
I guess I should have been more specific, thanks for pointing me to Ebay but what model/year did the wheel come from? Was it just a 3rd Gen Escort or a Tracer wheel? Thanks in advance!

Nice upgrade man. Cruise control is really nice for all those long trips. Sometimes I wish my car had it, even though I usually don't like any of those extra "luxury" options.

More info on the puller you used? The way the later wheel attaches is way different from the early wheel, but maybe a heavy duty puller would help me remove mine.

And I may be interested in your old steering wheel should you decide to sell it. Nikki's steering wheel is all chewed up around the top (looks like extreme sun damage or something) and I'd like to replace it some day.

It is a '94-96 Escort/Tracer wheel.
Ace, I had a slight hunch that's what it might be but wanted it verified! I can't wait to get one now. Looks like it feels great to use.

Well last night I installed the cruise gas pedal assembly. Now all I need is to install the under hood parts, cruise amplifier, and the vent valve. But first I need 3 6mm bolt( 2 for the solenoid and 1 for the amp), run a wire from the swtiches to the multifunction switch connector, and the clip for the vent valve. I'll need to figure out wire to get the wire ends from and the vent valve clip looks almost impossible to find new, so I quess a junk yard run is in order to complete the project. :(

(unless somebody has some extra parts laying around )

Those retaining clips are a pita to get out without messing them up. Did you try the parts stores yet?

Well I have the module and the under-hood solenoid mounted. Now I just need to run all the vacuum hose, run the extra wire for the controls, and figure out the dump valve. I may just buy a new multi-switch that is for cruise, since I broke the hazard switch off when I put my voltmeter in. As for the dump valve I haven't figured how to mount it yet seeing the clip is near impossible to find and from the sound of thing it breaks easily. I have been toying with the idea of wiring up a vacuum solenoid to the brake light switch instead, thus eliminating the mechanical valve. I just need to find an inexpensive 12v vacuum solenoid that can take under-hood temperatures to see if it is worth the effort.

zip ties work!

I just scored a leather 92 Tracer LTS wheel with cruise controls on it today at my local PAP! it's so much nicer than the stock EGT wheel, much firmer feel than the foam wheel previously on it!

and it looks better ;)

yeah cruise is NICE, I'm glad my GT came with it stock that made my life easier.

man your ride is sweet though keep it up lightning!

w00t, yeah cruise is nice once it's all adjusted properly! very nice! mine holds me within 2 mph up hills, falls from say 65 to about 63 then slowly climbs back to 65, so I have it adjusted nice, and holds 65 no problem flat ground, so nice!

good job man! how hard was it technical wise and wiring wise?
