I replaced the control arm on the driver side of my 87 Escort Wagon. It was rather difficult. My question is, how do I raise the engine up a bit to replace the passenger side arm?
I had to take out the tranny pan to replace the driver side and it was not easy for an old man like me.
It seems the oil pan is on the way of taking the passenger side arm off.
Thanks in advance

I have never tried to replace a control arm, so this is just a guess. You could undo the motor mount on the top passenger side of the engine, then be able to raise it with a jack a couple of inches. If you need more room than that, it might be necessary to take the oil pan off - which involves disconnecting the catalytic converter from the exhaust pipe and removing it.

Thank you so much. I'll try that sometime today.
