I think they're done with world motorsport... They have to be able to afford crapcar(Nascar) ya know  They pulled out of F1, are selling the jaguar team (not the company, just the F1 team), and they're selling Cosworth (the company) too. Duval and MArtin have both been released from their contracts.

Jesus.. that's a mistake. Ford can't rest on the laurels of the F-150 and Puma forever. A new WRC car built on the new Focus would dominate. :(

Whats wrong with Nascar/buch/ and truck series. there get more showtime, and spotlight there . there going on nascar where the airplay is. as for pulling out of wrc that sucks. cossie escorts are where its at. ad they are going to loose the second part also of that equation.

Nascar is great when they have wrecks and all but it's a closed circuit that takes a couple hundred laps around and around a track. Gets kinda boring after a while. WRC, now that's where the action is at! Drifting, high speeds, and some pretty awesome wrecks. Course that's just my oppinion. Sides, that's where the EVO, STI, and Focus RS were bread. If it wasn't for the WRC we wouldn't see those cars around. If Ford pulls out they are stupid IMO.

Is Ford pulling out of WRC because of the loss of Cosworth, or did they just drop them and want to give WRC a try on their own ? I think it's a huge mistake, cossies rock. What is Ford thinking ?

Nothing, if you like watching tube frame cars with rear drive and an 800 horse V8 do circle after circle after circle for hours. Personally, I find the whole idea of nascar repulsive, but Americans seem to have fallen in love with it (Why, I don't know). I wouldn't have a problem with it if they ran what they built on regular roads, in real weather, and actually turned left AND right ( oh, whats that series where they do that? ohhh yeahhhh, WRC :D ). Unfortunately, they don't. There isn't a single, stock, car part, on ANY of those "Stock Cars" we see every weekend. Another problem I have with nascar is that I can't afford it, not even as a fan. Tickets are over 100 bucks at some tracks... Then there's the waiting, and parking, and food, and motel, and driving. You can spend over 500 bucks easily in one weekend at a race. Now, with rally, spectating is free. I have a rally literally out my window in October (LSPR, Lake Superior Pro Rally). Last year, teh sponsors for the rally gave out free hot dogs and hot chocolate at the spectator points. Also, the drivers come to my university, show pictures, and video, and sign autographs. Hell, some of them will even take you for a ride around the block in their cars... When's the last time Dale Earnhardt came to your school to sign autographs and take ya for a spin? Mabye if rally was more popular it would be different, but when I look at rally, I see comeradery, and skill, and technical prowess, and a drive and ambition you dont see anywhere else. I have a video clip of a windshield cam looking back at francious Delacous, and you can see the look in his eyes... The passion, teh fear, the excitement, and the adrenaline. These things all combine with real cars, and real roads to create the most passionate, most exciting (and the oldest  ) form of motorsports the world has ever seen.
