please, lemme know what you guys know.

The only cold air I've ever seen on a 1.9 has been fabricated. It's extremely easy to do after you have the standard conial filter which they DO make for the second gen LX (www.nopi.com) After you've got that, it's all about fitting a curved piece of tubing on there :p Okay, so it's slightly more complicated, but not much. It makes a suprising difference. The conial filter makes a huge difference in and of its self, but the cold air extension makes even greater a difference. I'll try to smack my digital camera up and get her to take some pictures for you so I can show you how my friend and I fabricated it.

Hello:

Could anyone explain the advantage of the conical filter
over the stock one?

I have the following questions:

1. How should I maintain such a filter
- is it cleanable or just disposable like the stock?
- if it is disposable then how often one should replace it?
- what manufacturers, types, sizes are preferable for our cars?

2. Is cold air intake just and extension of the filter to the
fender well?

- if so then would the cold air intakes for zx2 from www.zxtuner.com
work?

3. What are exactly the performance gains you really experienced

Thank you,

Rob

some are both

replace it once its gets dirty, just like the stock one.

k&n is very good but a little pricy, but they are all pretty much the same.

2. Is cold air intake just and extension of the filter to the

cold air is just as it sounds. cold air. you can achiveve this by going into the fender and sucking in cold air or you can have aluminum tubing in place of you rubber tubing which will help cool off the air and let the air flow more freely.

- if so then would the cold air intakes for zx2 from www.zxtuner.com
work?
couldnt answer that 1 for ya.

3. What are exactly the performance gains you really experienced
typically gains are anywhere from 4-8hp... which isnt bad considering you can get the pieces and make an aluminum cold air intake for under $150 easily.

hope that helps.... and please correct me if im wrong people
