I had a new clutch installed in my 88 escort gt but it releases high from the floor. Is is possible for me to somehow adjust it so that it releases closer to the floor? Thanks.

Yeah please stop plugging up the forum with the same question, you'll get the same answer every time and less people will be apt to even reply to it.

    Here's your options:

If pressure plate and throw-out bearing aren't new replace them too.

Pull up on the clutch pedal as far as you can and make sure your cable isn't stretched or otherwise damaged.

If that changes nothing or it ratchets back down inspect your plastic ratcheting gears (the big one is called a clutch quadrant) if they are stripped you need new ones as worn ones cannot be revived. The billet aluminum ones are what you want, one with a dial-adjuster for the cable is ideal.

.Thanks for the response. I’ll check to see if the gears are worn/stripped. No disrespect, but I don’t consider asking a the same question as clogging the blog when a lot of time has passed since the last ask. Rationale being, you can’t tell who’s new or recently signed in after a while that may know the answer.

No problem, I never mean be a turd but others won't lend a hand if they feel their chain is being yanked - some have less tolerance/patience than others.

Definitely let us know how that goes, if you keep this thread updated more guys will help conquer whatever problems you might face than if you start a fresh one. Best of luck!
