There is a constant chirping noise coming from my engine bay, that speeds up as i accelerate. My dad said it might be the timing belt, but he's not sure. Any advice?

Birds?

...Sorry, had to.

Seriously though, does the noise increase with engine revs or vehicle speed?

Worn motor mounts causing excessive movement possibly could make a funny sound.

i have the same noise and have been lost trying to find it. it only happens when im turning though, and gets faster as my car gets faster (not the engine). i was thinking maybe a wheel bearing. it only happens on the drivers side and usually at low speeds <15mpg but maybe i just cant hear it at high speeds.

easy check pull off the assessory belt and check your alternator for movement, they have bearings in them :)

you sir are corrcet - wheel bearing - what you are hearing are the ball bearings locking up because they are dry, no lube left in the bearing.

check the serp belt tensioner pulley - mine did the exact same noise - the pulleys by themselves are reasonably cheap ($15-17 IIRC)

How long do you think it will take for the dry bearing to completely disintegrate? this noise has been happening for a few months now. How do I go about either adding grease or replacing it? Thanks in advance

Guilty... been driving arond with birds in my wheels for the past 3 months, (lack of $$ to buy bearing and pay someone with a press) it's like a short chirp, pause, short chirp, pause, or thats how it sounds at 10-15 MPH. Pretty sure thats wheel bearing material.

It's also a bad Idea to try and align the front-end yourself when the wheel bearing is this bad, right? have to do it all again once you get it replaced?
