ok got the exahust manifold on and sounding good but i have no back pressure now i was wondering if this cat would work??

I'm not sure... I think that the exhaust manifold and cat endings are different sizes...that looks more like a straight thru pipe than a cat.

Just what I thought, I just didn't read much of anything, thats a straight thru pipe...a cat converter replacement. (illegal...)

If you have emissions testing don't get this.

2.25" inlet...I'm not sure what size inlet the EGT exhaust is but you'd either have to get one custom made or find a fitting to make it work.

and im pretty sure no shop will install this straight throught for you...cauz if they get caught...they might loose their operating licenses..

just go for a bigger diameter cat coverter.....if you e-test you'll definitelt fail....or if you for safety inspection too....

i have a shop that will do any thig for business because they fixed my exahust today and i have no cat right now. i dont need to pass any emmisions tests or saftey things at all i just need backpressure and i thought a cat would be the way to go

a) those aren't catalytic converters, numbnutz.. how many people have to tell you that? They're pipes made to look like high flow cats.. but they don't even look the part.

b) you don't need backpressure..

What size piping did they put on? Is it mandrel bent? Do you still have a flex-pipe?

Get what sound back? Adding restriction will make it quieter.

The high-flow cats that you posted are not cats nor do they even LOOK like cats. The one that thescortgt posted is what you want. If you want to pass inspection legally, that is.

unless yyou are into real horsies(doubt it) getting your cat out for that will not do any good....i got pulled over a couple of time.....anyway for cat converters go for magnaflow or catco.......its the only legal way.....and it won't sound like a weed whacker on crack and steroids....

Your car is not stalling because of the exhaust system. You could take your exhaust system off and it would idle fine. Your car sounds like rice because it's a LITTLE FOUR-CYLINDER. Leave your exhaust how it is, or get a REAL catalytic converter. You might also want to look into why it's stalling out, as it is not due to your exhaust system.

I will be waiting for a response telling me I'm wrong. Because I'm not.

actually, i have a friend with a 94 tracer lts, and his car stalls, because it doesn't have any backpressure. it doesn't idle fine at all, he has to keep the engine revved. there's a large hole in his exhaust right before the cat, and he doesn't have the money to replace the whole exhaust. but he can't even stop at stopsigns without stalling. he has to roll through them.
