those 2 door's weigh quite a lot, carbon fiber doors would be SAWEET! just wish I could afford em :( I say do it, I can't buy em but I'd love to see them!! maybe someday I'll be rich!

carbon fiber hood, hatch, doors, fenders on a black EGT, SEEEXY!

    very good stuff.

i would love to get a c/f hatch for my wagon. fenders i don't think would be needed thing if they don't weigh that much, but i would get them if mine were damaged.

not really ricey, just would be nice to have the fenders first. Then it works for the 2 door or 4 door escorts.

The fenders would be cool, but not very functional---the stock ones weigh like 6lbs tops and the CF ones will weigh about the same---maybe a pound lighter tops...Now if I was making a wider fender for some huge tires then I could see it happening. I'm still not entirely sure about the window tracks etc...I'll look into it further.

I looked around and found that Stillen sells all the Seibon carbon doors for may cars, and has pictures. It looks like those doors have all the provisions for OE hardware and have window tracks for all the cars that have them stock. The Seibon parts are around 1400-1700, so I think $800 for a set of custom carbon doors is a great price.

Yeah Seibon is the only company that makes a CF hood for my Volvo S60---they want a grand for it---killing me...

CF doors would definitely have to be for track cars.... No way they offer enough protection on a street car.

Definitely a good price though. If someone has doors to replace.. a couple hundred bucks at a salvage yard, a couple hundred bucks for paint matching.... might as well just spend a couple hundred bucks more and get a 100% corrosion resistant part. Especially something that would look that cool. If I stick with a 2 door shell, I would probably pick up a pair.... but I am not 100% since I have kids in the back seat a lot. meh, there is plenty of room in the doors I could add reinforcement without getting in the way of anything.

Honestly, with as much of a problem these cars have with rust, I am half tempted to start cutting off most of the sheet metal on these cars and fiberglass/CF as much of the car as I can.

widebody front fenders  Make some good flairs for the rear quarter and I am down.

I mostly said fenders because of the look, you aren't gonna save any weight on that at all, the stock fenders weigh nothing lol, and dent like nothing, I know! :p

it would be so awesome to have CF doors though, the 2 door scorts 1 door weighs what... 30 lbs or so? CF would be what 20ish if that? I say sweet! plus the look would just be OOOOOO. yeah if you do wider fenders that would be worth looking into someday, prices are awesome too I just got squat to my name, had to buy a starter rebuild kit instead of new starter toady :p

I look forward to seeing some CF doors!!!!! :D

Picked up some clean doors today---finally---they weigh 70lbs complete---if your building a race car and delete everything and run the CF ones you'll save at least 50lbs a side---probably 60lbs a side---I wonder what 120lbs less weight would do to your 1/4 mile times Jon??? If you had a hatch and hood you'd probably be 200lbs lighter!!!

I was saying that the fenders sound ricey. Even so, i'd want them next. Purely from an asthetics department.

Think about it.... hood, doors, and hatch all in CF. Not one CF panel touching another. Damn car will look like a checkerboard.

That's all, i realize that there isn't much weight savings by doing cf fenders.

I thought you were saying the doors were. lol

well I f i got doors then yes, i would take fenders at that point to finish the car off. An entire carbon front end would look great.

Then again I may just make the car black so the carbon is not so obvious

^^^I am thinking long term here. I had seriously thought about painting my carbon parts, but then I thought, "how will I sell them if there painted calypso green?"

My color is not very common and most people dont paint match carbon pieces, so I just left them unpainted
