Seems like it took forever to have them made, but they are finally done! Posting here in case some of you haven't seen the post in the group buy area. We've got a stock hood and invader hood as well that we'll be selling. I'm excited about the weight savings---they're only 11lbs!!! Quality/fit is pretty good as well!!! Enjoy!!!

    very slick!

the only thing i could suggest after seeing those pics is that the lip could have come straight down, eliminating the orange reflector

And also so it sits flush with the corner lights, would look much better. But this is awesome!

if you don't mind my asking, how much did all this run you? if it's not too astronomical i may start picjhing pennies to get a hatch done for the wagon

I prefer the lip... because you can mount the reflector if you want, or leave it blank if you don't. Or mount something else if you're me!

OK---so we've had carbon fiber hatch's made and sold a few, we've sold a few carbon fiber hoods---both the invader style and the oem style. So far everyone's been pleased with the quality---it's certainly not perfect, but decent and even better than many of the items I saw at the track this weekend. Now I've been asked to have some carbon fiber doors made---I contacted the same folks above and they said sure why not...The molds are more, but the gentleman has been kind enough to split them with me this time!!! So with all of this said, I'm looking for some straight doors, and sometime soon (probably by next month) if all goes well, we'll be able to offer CF doors for the 91-96 ford escorts...It looks like they will sell for around $800 for the pair plus tax/shipping (shipping looks to be under $200---I can ship a hatch/hood combo for that so I'm guessing 2 doors wont be any different). So if I do the math correctly and round up is there anyone in their right minds who would pay about $1075 for a pair of Carbon doors for the escort??? Just trying to gauge interest...

Sounds cool. Just curious, will it just be skinned or is the entire inner framing going to be molded. Also will you need cores for the window frame and etc?

It would be the whole door molded in carbon---should take all the stock hardware...

So... that would be 2 door setup right? How would one get the window tracks and whatnot in there? I could probably go for some doors, and a thousand bucks does sound tempting for rustproofing forever, though I will probably swap into a 4 door shell seeing as I have kids and all.

Anyways, I agree with ciento, Fenders would be much nicer.

    whats so ricey about it?
It makes more sense to make doors from a weight savings stand point, then a fender that only weighs a few pounds anyway.

Covering your door in fake carbon look vinyl would be ricey
