if my car has been idleing for 10 min or driven for say 10 15 min and gets warm or even has been siting in the sun on a hot day it will start and then die and will not restart untill it cools off. i checked and it still has spark but i have never heard the fuel pump prime the system. once the car is running it runs fine. anyone know what this problem could be? oh its a 94 1.8l egt.

I would check the coolant temperature sensor. The one that goes to the computer. You have a total of 3 of them. One for the fan and one for the gauge and one for the computer. It could be the sensor or just sirty contacts on it. I'd check the fuel pressure vacuum hose and regulator first though.

I forgot about the ECT sensor, yes that would keep your car from warm starting.
I dont know what escort you have, but my LX's only have 2 temp sesnor's. The one wire sensor is for the Temp gauge on the dash, the other is besides it with a two wire plug, that one tell's the computer the temp, and the computer tells the fan when to turn on, and decides wheather to run in closed or open loop mode.
Maybe the GT's have 3 sensor's??

The earlier scorts had three sensors.

1 for guage
1 for ecu
1 for cooling fan

Some time, during some year, it changed to two sensors.

1 for guage
1 for ecu

The cooling fan became controlled by the ecu.

1995 GT's have 3 sensors, at least according to the service manual.
