I know a guy over on the Mazda 323 performance board who wired cameras (the tiny pinhole kind) into various places inside the car, then sent them to a recording unit and somehow it got to his house wirelessly or something.

I dont know the full details, but its a cool idea to think about if anyone has the money to do it! :D

Haha, I know! I think he's still in the process of making it work, but as far as I know he has all the equipment and cameras installed

Another more realistic thing to do....if you park your car right out front of your house (like in a driveway, or town-house parking lot) would be to set up a cmaera in the front of your house to monitor your spot.

I live in a townhouse, and my neighbor did just this. He's got the cam linked to a recorder, which is in turn looped to his computer on a 48hour tape. Its a good setup....as some guy tried to rip out the hood latch cable on his civic and he reveriwed the tape and caught the guy. Just food for thought.

You Can Buy Pinhole Wireless Cams, some apparently can travel for about 1000ft or so. not a bad idea if you parking spot is close to the house.

Kragen sells them... that's where I got one for my third gen. Or you can always buy them online from them.

    As far as security goes....

I always take my faceplate if I'm parked somewhere for more than 15 min. depending on location.

My amp is installed under the passenger seat with all of the wires under the carpet. Sub box has case hardened brackets with grade 8 bolts holding the box to the floor with huge washers and a nut on each one and the same way inside the box. Unless they get under the car and have someone hold a wrench up top, its not going anywhere.

Not too worried about the car itself getting stolen since it ticks like a timex, the drivers fender is bent all to shit, and its a wagon. However, I have wired a fuel cut-off switch from the inertia switch to the underside of the drivers seat. Got it so you have to run your fingers between the seat and console to turn it on/off. can't see it but you can feel it.

    Simple easy security system.

    MATERIALS REQUIRED:

BASE MATERIAL: Posterboard, typing paper, Old cardboard
    from pizza box. (Pick 1)
MEDIUM: Printer, stick on letter kit, magic marker, crayola. (Pick 1)
FASTENER: Stapler, glue gun, some soft of tape, bubblegum. (Pick 1)

This is one time that the more ghetto it looks the better.

    EXECUTION:

Take your chossen base material and put the following message on it
with your choosen medium. "If you steal this car you will be forced
to keep and maintain it." wtite it so it takes up the bottom 3rd of your
    base material.
Turn material over and write the same message again right above
    the 1st message.
Now take you material and fold it into 3rds to make a display. You should
have a blank base it sits on and the message facing 2 different dirrections.
Now take your choosen fastener and seal it together so it will sit
on your dashboard with the message facing in and out.

OPERATION OF THE GHETTO MK I SERIES B SECURITY SYSTEM:
When you park your car simple set the security system atop the
dashboard in front of the steering wheel. That way when a potential
car theif walks up he can read it thru the windshield, or if he approaches
from the rear he will see it when he gets in to steal it.

I've used this system for over 25 years and never had one of my
raggedy a$$ cars stolen. However the security system itself has
been stolen over a dozen times.

lol at the ghetto security system. :D

But as for the cd code head units, my friends car has one in his car and the batt died so we had to reset the code. He called mitsubishi and said he was calling from a garage and said he removed the cars battery and the code light came on, they gave him the code without many questions. So i'm guessing if some one called whatever head unit company and pretended to be a mech i doubt they'd have too much of a hassle. (although i could be wrong)

I've got a good anti theft device, push button starter up under the dash, gets to be a pain to start the car all the time but whose gonna figure out you gotta turn the key on, so you gotta break the ignition, then you gotta push in the clutch AND push the starter button under the dash, they're gonna turn it and try to start it and guess what, NOTHING HAPPENS HA HAHAHA

it's a good, easy mod if you wanna put the button up high on the dash for looks and ease of use go for it, this guy has a good write up on how to do it!

    http://www.nwerdt.com/how-to/electrical ... start.html

hide that thing under your dash and you're safe from some jerk driving your car away, he might riffle through your stuff in the car and steal your subs but the car will still be there! that's my 2 cents worth fellas!
