My 95 escort will not start. I have about 38lbs of fuel pressure at the valve on the fuel rail, I have spark to all the plugs, and I have power going to the injectors. I thought the timing belt may have broken but it has not, is it possible for these cars to jump timing enough to cause a no start condition? I disconnected the battery to clean the terminals, will I still be able to pull the codes from the computer? I did not check for codes first, doh... I'm running out of ideas I am thinking maybe the crankshaft sensor? Is there a way to test that? Any one have any ideas for me?

YES it is very likely that the belt either jumped a cog or six OR that the belts' teeth are stripped out at the bottom half of the crank pully. Can you have someone else spin the thing over while you look for the timing belt to turn?

I have had another person turn the engine over and the belt does rotate the cam, waterpump and crank. I think I'm gonna have to jump in and see if the timing mark's still line up.
