a few of my friends are trying their very hardest at joining a car club, but im not as excited about it as they are.
am i jealous because the escort tends not to recieve as much recognition compared to a nissan or a dodge avenger?
or is it just trite and ridiculous to join a car club with a bunch of schmucks who have watched the fast and the furious too much?
what are your thoughts, i am interested in hearing what everyone has to say about car clubs. (by asking this, i mean no offense to any of you who are in a car club: just merely speaking my mind hoping for some feedback.)

well i used to be in a car club, but i really didnt care too much about being it. i enjoyed the people in the club and going to shows, but when it came down to needing some help to wrench on my ride or vise versa, no one would ever lend me a hand or ask me to lend them a hand. i always thought that club members were supposed to help others out but i found that was wrong in my case. there was also a lack of communication in the club. we had an online mailing list, everyone´s email addy and phone number but no one ever contacted others. the one thing about that club was there was a few cliques which i wasnt part of any of them. the separate cliques would go out to eat, go bowling or some shit and never ask other members of the club to come along. it was bullshit and rather frustrating at times. i finally ended up quitting the club, moved and then sold my car. yeah the people were cool, but alot of the attitudes sucked because they thought they were above everyone else, unlike me where i was just myself and down to earth. it was bullshit, but thats the stuff that can and will go on in a club. my best advice is look around at different clubs and see where u fit in the best at. the club i was in, i was asked to be in, but it seemed like i wasnt wanted. they wanted my car and not me :-[ just look around like i said and be careful what club you join as you will more than likely encounter alot of bullshit....it goes with every club. good luck bro.

:-( Wouldn´t be seen dead in a British Cozzie clique - they could bore for England!! Anyway, it´s never gonna happen to me that´s for sure! :-o

What kind of a club are you looking for? There´s likely a local branch of the SCCA that runs a local enthusiast club if you´re looking into racing.

Otherwise, keep your eyes peeled for a local car show where you can rub elbows with some show car fellas.
