i was told by someone witht the same oil burning problem that the pcv filter in my 1.9l 86 gt engine is clogged with oil.. he cleaned it and no more burning oil...it was dripping oil into exhaust? now i cant find it

you talking about the PCV valve? blockage of this valve can lead to overpressurization and leakage of oil from the valve cover afaik.

my pcv valve looks alright.. but i want to know if there is a pcv filter? or if the guy cleaned sumthin else out ad he doesnt know what hes talking about... how much is a pcv valve anyway...

pcv valves are cheap, made of plastic, and only cost me about 2 bucks at an automotive store....

if ur burning alot of oil, u might like me, have fried ur piston rings. the idiot before me tried to put nitrous in his car w/out ne mods and assumed it wouldnt do nething..so now, i burn oil until i decide to take my block apart and replace them..which this summer if i dont go lazy, i will do.

The owner before me liked to change the oile every 10,000 to 15,000 miles... so my piston rings are shot.. does anone know what the best engine oil treatment to slow the oile burning.. fill in some of the scrtches?
