well, its finally happened, bush has struck baghdad. i think we should pray for all of the people that will be involved in this war. hopefully there wont be any casualties or very few. but doesnt it seem so simple so easy. that we could go over there and bomb them, and nothing happen to us? i say be ready, just incase we are shocked by the unthinkable.

it is now that we the people of the free world need to stand and be counted. It is not whether you support President Bush or not . It is not whether you feel Iraq is wrong . It is rather knowing that our brothers and sisters are over there putting their life on the line to try to make this world safer for us . this means that it is imperative that we rally around our troups as they leave for war and that we pray for a swift and decisive end to this harbor of terrorism . my thoughts turn now to our own members who are , will, or may be affected by this . May the good Lord protect and guide them all as they prepare to go to war , and may they do their duty with honour and integrity . I know in my own family there will be several possibly returning to active duty , and they will go like their grandfathers before them to try to save the world again . ( getting a bit idealistic there for a moment ) God bless all.

I´m drawn apart from myself. Morally I see no point in waring with anyone, I see no point in putting ourselves in another nations leadership, I see a lack of correcting other peoples wrongs by shorting them the wisdom and pride by accomplishing things for themself.

However, I am not a god...just an American. I believe in the freedoms I was lucky enough to be born with. I understand how we as a collective put a person of decision in a place to make the decisions. I understand he surrounds himself by people he believes in, but also listens to for suggestions on how to mind his and our business. I also understand how I am not as wise as those that I put in charge. I do not understand why, because I am young and naive. But in my naive choices I did PUT that person in charge and by enjoying all my freedoms I need to support Him, His Counsel, Our Brothers, Sisters, and Friends, and OUR NATION. I will do what is in my ability to support them. If its volunteering my hands, mind, soul...I WILL do it. If its paying higher gas prices, saving metals, rubber, and fabric....I WILL do it.

I will also take pride in my freedom to bare arms and be prepared for those that do not believe I should enjoy these freedoms. I will defend my freedoms.

EZH/Blade - Ditto from me and mine - well said.

On a slightly lighter note, I had a look at UK Gov. website - got my batteries/torch/tinned food/water etc. I think I shall duct tape myself into Eric the Escort and suffocate to bloody death!!!

All the best to everyone particularly on this site, and their friends and relatives - let´s hope our leaders are RIGHT!

For every Escort destroyed in this war I shall personally send Saddam a stern fax! Maybe I´ll slap on my old street hockey pads and march over there. NO PENALTY BOX HERE! *Thwack* CALL ME ON HIGH STICKING NOW! *Club* YOUR PUNY BULLETS ARE NO MATCH FOR MY FOAM ARMOUR!

If bush starts up the draft, I´ll be more than happy to carry myself a nice little M-16 through the deserts of Iraq ;-)
But until then, I know i´m just not soldier material. I´m too tired all the time for being 20 yrs old. I´d be the only guy over there that has a picture of his car in his wallet longing for the days where my only worry was whether or not there´s a cop lurking around the next corner ready to bag me for doing 10 over. :-]

I personally think we should just fly in there, bomb the hell out of them, come back and say; "I thought you said you were ready for us?"

NOTE - My personal view may not reflect those of the US military and/or it´s members.

I thought it stupid of Israel´s PM Sharon to comment that he doubted that Saddam´s scuds could hit Israel. Ok, well think about it eh? How many scuds hit last time???? And a comment like that is like reaching over the fence and slapping the chained dog. The dog is going to do his damnedest to bite you back....

There are new Avatars up. Anybody remember Bloom County? I picked Milo Bloom.

Here we are faced with yet another war that is unpopular amongst many in the world and this country. The military has always learned from battles past and it is about time for the citizens to learn as well. Support your armed forces overseas that are protecting your rights. The most important of which being Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. I don´t know if we are doing the right thing or not but we were committed with last year´s UN Resolution. We said severe consequences, well here they are. If for some reason we are wrong lets just hope that we can bring this to an end with a minimum of innocent casualties and restore order. And hey, who doesn´t like video shots from a f-117 stealth dropping laser guided thousand pound bombs? Better than prime time programming!

For me this is a complete replay of the Gulf War. Saddam´s a D*&!, Bush is president, gas prices are high, and once again my dad is stationed in Kuwait. (Can anyone say de ja vous?) I just hope that any loss of life is minimal, and that my dad returns safe and sound. I also hope that this thing ends quickly. Just get in there, remove Saddam and his followers, set up a new government, and get out. Plain and simple.

God bless and protect our people over there . I too would be happy to pick up my M98-51 and send a few rounds that way if it meant someone coming home safely by the way brother Blade ;its bear arms rather than bare arms , unless of course you mean to wrestle saddam to death. Foxy don`t barricade yourself in Eric until you suffocate ; we need you here to help us to keep things in perspective . your take on things we say from your side of the pond is quite refreshing . Paul , I like the add-on to your sig . My dad was in the Army Air Force in the second war in the pacific , motorpool , radio operator . our thoughts are with you and your new family in this trying time ,as well as with all of our members who serve . God protect you all .

I don´t have any friends or relatives in harms way (thank God) so I shall adopt your dad. I shall be thinking of him and you and your family - all the very best - same goes for everyone else in similar circumstances!
