ok, i am currently knee deep in the teardown of my 87 exp. she will be getting stripped of all extra interior parts and a roll bar installed. my turbocharger and exhaust manifold arent here yet, so i havnt been able to play with routing the exhaust and intercooler lines yet, but i will get to it eventually. i havnt got an intercooler yet anyway. ok, i plan on using the good ol' megasquirt-n-EDIS for this project. now i have a question: what would i do to block off the camshaft hole in the head? do i have to cut the end of the camshaft off to do this? i would prolly go snag a coilpack and edis unit from a 2g and bolt it to the head like they do. anyone forsee problems with doing this? im not sure how the distributor goes into the head, so i dunno.....

not that this will help you much, but to me as far as the head its self goes, it looks like ford just stuck a big freeze plug in the end of the head......

I dont know if that is what they did, but it sure looked like it to me

Why not go with a 2.3 Turbo computer, injectors and VAM? It pretty much plugs right in to the stock Escort harness. It runs the car perfectly with boost. and should be cheap. There is gizmo's that plug into it to allow for custom programing if needed, but I have heard of 300hp with just the 2.3 turbo electronics as is.

and yes the second gen 1.9 just have a big freeze plug to block off the dizzy hole.
