I´ve always noticed my escort had poor pedal feeling to it during heavy braking. I´ve just gotten new rotors and pads on all 4 wheels, I know there is a break in period but my brakes still feel too weak for my comfort.

It feels like when I slam on the brakes that my foot is hitting the floor. Does anyone else have this problem/symptom?

Is there anything I can do? Could my brake booster be weak or something? Is there any adjustments I can do?

I´d really like to have my brakes feel strong, even lock-up BEFORE my foot hits the floor.

Any help/comments would be appreciated.

Two things:

Get braided stainless steel brake lines (DOT approved)

Flush out the old brake fluid...takes a little more than a quart.

He´s right Knight...the brake lines are hella-expensive, but it will stiffin up your pedal feel to stock car feel.

Yeah I have my new DBA slotted/crossdrilled and EBC greenstuff pads, and I can feel it stop faster, but the pedal does have a lot of travel still.

Stainless lines are about $100 for a complete set, which according to the cost of the last OEM line I had to purchase for an emergency, costs the SAME as regular ruber lines.

wow, no way, where did you get them at. When I went looking for them it was like 199 for the front end.

Does anyone else have trouble locking up their brakes? I mean I feel pushing really hard, and think I hit the floor/stop and my brakes just barely lock. Is this how its suppose to be? Would new lines help this problem?

Different pads, resurfaced rotors and clean fluid with the stainless lines will make a big difference. Hawk, EBC, AXXIS (metakmaster), and KVR are a few brands...

I had a problem with my brakes pulsating, hitting the floor and not stopping as quickly as I would have liked. It was the brake booster. I got a reman for $60.00. I had already replaced my master cylinder and differential valves. The booster even tested okay but was still bad.

I have noticed in the past month, my when i push the break it feels like metal on metal sounds like metal on metal, when pushing the break in, and stoping time is downfalling 2, its getting harder for me 2 stop, i think i need to break pads, lol
