Hi there. I know this sounds stupid but I can´t figure out what size nuts are holding the struts to the tops of my the strut towers. I´m talking about the nut with a built-in flange thing that secures the four major bolts that poke through into the engine compartment. They´re not M10 and they´re not 3/8". What are these things? Canadian Tire and Home Depot have been useless. I´ve got the Ford Racing struts (by Tokico) for the ZX-2 S/R, by the way.

Thanks in advance

if i recal, for doesnt use american bolts...should all be metric..

the sizes i´ve seen are

8 mm
10mm
12mm
14mm

8 and 10 are used for smalll things like fender bolts
12 is used for things that use moderate stress...bumper mounts....calipers..ect
14 i´ve seen used on anything in high stress....cross member, tranny, engine mounts.. stuff like that...

you ought to try 12 mm

lol! I knew I´d get razzed for asking this question. But believe me, it´s not a 10mm nut. Or if it is, it has some kind of strange thread pattern. Curiously, the strut tower bar I bought uses the same size nut for a different purpose so I know these things are still being made. Maybe it´s an 11mm. I´ll keep looking.
