Do you think it would be possible for someone to do a simple how-to on installing the 92-99 3 series headlights in a scort. I´m more concerned about how they are mounted than how to wire them correctly. I´m really interested in hooking those up in my 93 EGT. Thanks a bunch. ;-)

Jeebus! I thought you were slapyo! I think we should be able to hotlink avatars from other websites (i.e. if we have our own web server, we can hotlink an avatar) so that way, we not only get our own unique avatar, but we also don´t bog down FEOA!

Anyway, I´d love to see a how-to also. I live in upstate NY, and nobody has nice cars, so I won´t be able to get my hands on a set eaisly, but I will keep an eye out, because my lights are kinda yellowed, and I do have access to a milling machine and a machine shop, so I can make just about anything fit with a little elbow grease and 7 hours in the shop.

My avatar should be a crazed guy with a gun shooting a computer. Because that´s how I feel today. IExplorer is flaky, the server is burping every 30 minutes, and my laptop is grinding to a halt. Time to call it a day....

hey zeemax- you already know what I´m thinkin- linux time! w00t!

runs faster and better than windows on my machine, but it´s hella hard to set up and a wicked pain in the ass if you don´t know what you´re doing.

well anyway, I am seriously considering getting some E36 headlights on my scort- exactly what modifications do I need to do?

Check it out. Why do you want BMW headlights when you can do a couple of things to save your escort. For my headlights which were also yellowish I just used the turtle wax, I used the paste style that comes in the round tin can, and all you do is rub it in using circulor motion. It works good but if you have a buffer it works better. If you don´t want to do that you can do what I am going to do for my new Escort and LOOK under the menu in the Sponsors and go to DIRECTPARTS.COM and they sell our headlights for $50 a side brand new in the box and the lens is crystal clear. Well thats my 2 cents, good luck. ;-)

So... the BMW headlight conversion is even harder. Besides, even though the Beamer lights look pretty good, they don´t quite match up with the angle of the grille. One more Option would be to get cosworth lights, but here you would have to change an bunch up things. The side marker lights, the grille, and the entire hood, and possibly the front bumber (not sure), just to get everything to fit right.

My headlights are in perfect condition but they just don´t have the appeal that I want. Besides everybody wants to try something not many people are doing. People in my town would be shocked to see an escort with cool mods like a BMW headlight conversion. Strippedmx5, if you are out there please let me know how to convert to beemer beams. Thanks.

Sorry, guys, I have been a bit busy, of late, with work, car projects, training and all. I am just finishing the seat heater project on my wife´s Miata. When I get done, I will jump on and give you the short version of what tossed together for the BMW conversion. By the way, the seat heaters are WAY wicked. We drive in ALL weather with the top down and these are the best things since sliced bread.
