hey fellas, Cameron here from down under. (Australia).

i have myself a 4 door KF/KH Laser. member of Fordlaser.com(i beleive Dave94LX is one of your blokes).

ive noticed alot of you blokes like to do the TX3 conversion, so i thought i'd mix it up and do the reverse

seen a few Escorts getting round the web with a nice set of twin headlamps on em and wondering how they are done? are they readily available to fit straight into the escort?from what ive read, there are 2 styles, the oneses with the little facia thing over them(2 round lamps) or without(full headlight, but distinctive twin lamps below)

im interested in getting either of these chucked on the little laser as i reckon it would look tops.
Basically, my Question is, are they available as a direct swap from the escort headlight(ie- custom made, now distributed)
or do i have to buy myself a set of e36 headlights and hack them up to fit?

heres my little machine incase you wonder what im getting around in... bar is yet to be painted.. but headlights are the priority atm.. also got an FPV badge coming next week to fit in that grill(FPV, is Fords Performance vehicles sector in Oz incase anyone was wondering...)

The BMW E36 lights are in no way drop ins. Custom mounting, fitment, and wiring is required. The final results will all depend on how much time you spend getting them to sit halfway decently. Awhile ago I was planning on making twin projector fiberglass OEM style fits for our escorts, but the guy that I was having make molds for me ended up losing his house in a hurricane which set the project on the back burner for now.. Until I find someone else to make molds from the masters I made for me to glass them from, the only option is to use the BMW E36's and modify them to work.

i actually have a pair, with angel eyes that you would have to put in yourself, that i want to sell. I don't have any experience shipping to australia though... I assume shipping price is huge?

as you said, the shipping would be massive, above the $150 mark as a guess?i have an aunt in the US, so ive asked dad to contact her and see if she can find out the cost for me.

i think it might work out easier for me to find a customisation shop over here, find a cheap set of e36 lights and get them to get them going,
i may be interested in those lights fromt you jdubb if shipping isnt too much....

i beleive the escort has slightly different headlight mounts to the laser?

edit: used fedex online quote estimator, and it's gonna cost $260 AUD to ship over here... probably be cheaper for me to get some made instead. thanks mate

Hey man, small world! Yes, the mounting points are different from the Escort to the Laser.

I would definitely suggest buying a set of E36 headlights in AU. rather than having them imported. I looked on AU's eBay, and you can get E36 projector lights no problem. Just don't get the kind with the corner lights and head lights all in one piece, as that would require modifying the guards to make them look correct. With your bumper though, it should be easier to line them up.

cheer dave... found a few pics on ebay, but they are still worth 180AU... might take some pictures of the housing and that and visit a chop shop... see what they can do...
