This is the car that started me down the escort path years ago. It's a 1991 EGT with a BPT and set up for roadracing. I can't tell you how many engines we went through (3 I think) trying to get the N/A ecu to work for roadracing with Super AFC's, map clamps, bigger injectors, extra injectors, rising rate fuel setups...Then we just got the correct ECU and could run for hours on end. The car is gutted, caged (it's getting re-done), has a fiberglass hood, no headlights/grill (has a false front), custom dash with full assortment of gauges, has tockico 5 way adjustable Chevy Camaro struts (highly modified to fit), Haltech management now, custom wiring harness, swaybars, and stock brakes with dimpled/slotted rotors, hawk pads, short throw shifter, urethane bushings through out, custom steering column...

It's going to be converted to a back-up rallycar for the customer I just finished the other car for. It's getting a new cage, carbon hatch/lexan, the motor's coming out and it's getting a 10.5 to 1 N/A motor, real doors, quick release steering wheel/hub, front skidplate braces, tubular rear arms, new wheels and tires.

The turbo in this car has a bolt on flange for the cold air intake pipe that goes up to the air cleaner...All the bpt's I've seen have a rubber boot that clamps on down there---could this be a GTR motor??? It was bought as a JDM motor through a Los Angeles Importer...

Are you going to put the stock heater back in or go for something custom? Very cool for the client to have a backup. Is he getting a price break for the second time around?:) With this, you might be on your way to developing a pre-cut cage kit? Hope you post your work for this one, too!

It is a gtr---it's going in my new car as the rally class he's running is only N/A. I'll post up photo's of this build as well. I've got the back 4 point cage as a kit already---I can certainly x the mainhoop on that one as well for the rally guys. For heaters we use electric ones and sometimes the self contained Mojave units---for most events (west coast) they are not even installed...

It's sad really---we cut a perfectly good roadrace cage out of the car because of the thin wall tubing used in roadracing...It's getting a 1 1/2" x .120 wall DOM rallycage.

Here's a shot of Dimmwatt (Casey) helping out by pulling the GTR motor this afternoon---it's going into my touring car build...the touring car motor is going into the pink rally escort...the pink rally escort motor is going into blacky the back up rally car...Musical motors!!

Just installed another one of JRALLY's (Roodwerks) motormounts...they fit nice...Also got a chrome air intake (that I'm betting is going to last about 1/2 a stage) thingy to get a big 3" air filter on...It's got Haltech so no mo' airflow meter deal...

Incidently I entered an escort pic in a contest for a friend---if you have some time and want to help him win a trackday, please check the "can I get help" thread in this section and click the link to vote. Thanks!!!
