Haynes auto repair manual states that if the fuel pump cuts off that one of the causes would be the ECM. In addition to this, no spark is being made by the plugs. I caved in and decided to purchase a code reader to make it easier. However, the code reader is not picking up any codes. Since the codes are not being sent, would the problem lie with the ECM or another area?

could be the computer is bad, could be a bad ground somewhere too.

usually it's the pump itselfs that cuts out. if u don't here any humming from the pump when u turn on the ignition switch, make sure there's clicks comin from the ecu area which would be ur main relay switch. also, make sure the inertia switch is down. if it's not down u'll see the light on ur dash that says fuel cut out switch.
