I have had and 2nd gen egt and I saw this section and have a couple of general questions. I read the suspension interchangabillity guide and was wondering why would any body want to change parts?
Do the protege/323 or mx3 handle better than an escort?
also which parts would make the most difference in terms of handling?

thanks everybody

Thats not the point. It's so if you look at after market parts you know if it fits that car then chances are it will fit our cars.

Yeah, what Denis said, it's not that they handle better, it's just that it's the same chassis so their performance parts fit our cars. Just think, there is much more aftermarket for the mazda cars than there is for the ford escort...

I think my sway bar kit was what improved handling the most. I also lowered the car, but it is extremely tight and precise. I got mine from Suspension Techniques about 5 years ago and the bushings are still in great shape. I think the price went up; I don't remember paying that much. The sway bars work well with stock height cars too because it reduces overall body roll.
