I just got a 1991 Ford Escort GT 1.8L DOHC and I was wondering what my options are for a little extra zip? All I have done so far is new tires, cd player and speakers, and a new starter.
I am thinking new plugs and wires, and a K&N FIPK. Also, what type of gains can I expect from the K&N FIPK?

Just a filter won´t give you very much of a gain. A cold air intake would maybe be a better idea. New plugs and wires won´t give you a gain unless your current ones are screwed. A new exhaust setup may help a little. Basically anything that can help the engine breathe and exhale better. If you want more zip remove your cd player and speakers from the car,

just make your own, there are lots of how to´s around on the internet. The gain wouldn´t be very significant.

Hey man If you are looking for an cold air intake look on Importstudio.com. I know they have a intake and I also know they have a cold air kit. you´ll need to cut a hole under your current air box but it works great. Hope this helps.
