I'm pretty new with all cars and was wondering if you guys had some beginner sites where i could learn some of the bigger terms and basic stuff. I'd like to put some work into my scort in the near future but would like some basic knowledge before i go rippin and tearin.

Thanks for the help guys.

Welcome.... I can't help, cause I'm just as useless as you are right now. highanddry is one of the guys that will abuse you (all in good fun), as will Sirigan, possibly James, etc...... They can take the abuse back too.

it isn't really individual questions, it's more of basic over views for enough to change things in my car.

i'm at envy though toward my friend.

He got a 92 grand prix or am (can't remember) with a crack in the oil tank or w/e. it's a front wheel drive so him and his dad have to dissassemble and reassemble the entire engine to fix it. it's not that i'd rather have that car it's just i'd rather have that hands on learning experience.

thanks for the offer though NwEcoCavi

and thanks for the warning 96EscortLX

yeah ive learned a lot of things that way...just watching someone helps a lot...maybe head down to a shop around your town and see if they will let ya watch for a bit...im sure some people wouldnt mind..even better yet if you have a school that has auto shop ask the teacher if you could just check out a class one time and have a look around...Also you can grab a haynes manual for your car if you dont have one and just browse through it and find out how to do certain things..here on feoa is a great place to learn though just watch certain posts

my problem with auto is this: i can't skip any classes to go watch nor would the probably let me. Next year is the only year i could take the class however i'm thinking of 2 different carrers and would like to further those and hopefully make a decision...in GA we only need 3 years of science and since i'm interested in being something within biology i'm going to take anatomy or something of that nature that has to do with bio. I'm also interested in computer graphics so after my required 2 years (i'll have three though) i'm going to drop german and take graphic arts...

i think my best bet is howstuffworks.com, a manual or something, and this site.

i made my sig but i'm no where near great, the ford logo is a cut out and the background is a few filter effects...i'ma take the class to further my graphic arts knowledge and see if its something i wish to do for the rest of my life...the money on site design and graphic arts is surprisingly hight but you also have to be surprisingly good.
