Anyone have a Haynes manual handy? I need the torque specs for a 92 EGT, main bearing cap and con rod bearing cap.

Torque specs for the 1.8 ONLY...

Main Bearing Cap bolts: 40 to 43 ft lbs
Connecting rod cap nuts: 35 to 37 ft lbs

WOW! That seems really low compared to the other engines. I think the diesel was in the 65-80 lb-ft range for the mains.

Is that beacuase of the lower compression? (9:1 vs. 22:1)

well it is a smaller engine. even though that diesel engine will only rev to 2k rpm, this thing will rev to 7k, maybe more if you balance the crank right ;-)

It must rev higher than 7, I know mine goes to 8 then fuel cutoff occurs. :-| :-]
