my car has been leaking a little coolant, the engine has been smoking, and it makes a ticking noise and vibrates really bad. the mechanic looked at it, he said the coolant was virtually all gone, he put more in and it ended up in one of the cylinders. he thinks it may be a blown head gasket or perhaps even a cracked head, but he won't know for sure until monday when he can look at it again. any idea what kind of prices it'll be for this repair? its a 95 lx automatic with about 105k miles on it.

Be prepared for a cracked head. Unfortunately you will not know untill it's apart. Head, gasket set, bolts, timing belt, water pump, some hoses and around 6 hrs. labor. If the car is in perfect shape and well taken care of like my 92 wagon, I'd fix it. If you raced it around (had fun with it) burned the tires, did'nt take great care of it, a little banged up?....you decide
